heatwaves and MRIs

today's another "ozone/air quality alert" day which is about as much fun for me as that time my friend booked us a "non-smoking" room in atlantic city where everything - even the shower, reeked of cigarettes...add to that the stench of rotting food & unwashed humanity & a "heat index" of 105 and let's just say it's another crank-making august in NYC...that said, here's a photo from last winter's snow...BTW my boss loves this weather, then again, she also loves the chicken from the deli downstairs...yesterday I had not one but THREE doctor appointments the first in the early am with my tiny & sweet physical therapist who tells me I'm "progressing" - progressing towards what he didn't say...after that it was off to the "regular" dr to check on the dogbite from the weekend (ouch) wherein I learned that it was "progressing well" translated into, i was doing the right thing by cleaning it with salt water (ouch) and that i might have a small scar which i'm sure will add to that false image i have of someone who's been around the block (anyone who knows me, knows i'd rather be home in my fuzzy slippers with the cat than out in the big, bad world)...next up was my first ever MRI...MAN do i never want to repeat those 18 minutes of hell any time soon...the tech said i "did great" & that's mainly because i reminded myself that one little boy i know has to have MRIs on a regular basis & he's only six...just finished the latest FUGUE & not much in there worth mentioning...now i'm reading aimee bender's INVISIBLE SIGN OF MY OWN & so far it's a great read...still struggling with THE WIND-UP BIRD CHRONICLE...is it just me or is this an annoying book?...also just finished Brian Azzarello's 100 BULLETS THE HARD WAY (vertigo comics) which was entertaining enough &
FREAKS OF THE HEARTLAND which is worth checking out...
