naked feet, yard ale & a dog bite...
after the performance & the post-performance schmooze, we caught a ride to "the Naked Feet Fete and Fundraiser" where we witnessed much music (changeling had great energy & a killer gtr player, everyone was else was...um..."not my cup of tea"). The party was fun enough as far as those sort of things go - though it was outside & reminded me a lot of those Williamsburg parties I don't go to so much any more. That said, I had fun, had some Yard Ale & some good conversation. Onwards...we crossed a construction site, a four lane highway and met up with Keith at Eckerd's...all adding to my ongoing case of culture shock...we managed to hail a cab & then headed back to the theater in time for their 7pm call, but not before we had a quick drink & I was safely ensconced at a local bar/cafe to wait out the evening performance. While my actor friend was working hard on stage, I was making friends with the local bartenders (both very nice women with great tattoos & even better taste in music), & having an in depth conversation about the accuracy of the portrayal of the weirdness underlying the beauty of the PNW in David Lynch's films. They ran out of Yard Ale (not my fault - I swear!) and I moved on to something else much tastier. Eventually, my friend & some other actors showed up & we grabbed a table for dinner. After an attempt at a dry as cardboard garden burger, I was glad to leave the R--- Cafe and follow my friends out into the night & on to a local bar or two. Back eventually to South Philly & a great local bar for closing. I was introduced to -----'s great song, ------ & then all hell broke loose. Roughhousing with my friend's sweet dog, suddenly he got possessive of his toy and BAM...bit me in the face. ouch. It's a small enough bite but definitely put a damper on my evening. to say the least.
