nick flynn master class in memoir

nick flynn recently taught a master class in non-fiction/memoir at the New School & although it was only a one night deal, it was well worth the time spent. With the New School's usual lack of organization, no one taking the class was actually notified that flynn was doing a lecture on non-fiction prior to the class so, sadly, we all missed out. The writing department also neglected to tell him that none of his students had exchanged work beforehand (why not?!?)...but he managed to find enough to spark great discussion from 8ish until nearly 11pm...the focus was primarily on the idea of "tension" and how we each define tension & how it's exhibited in our work...
